Discovering South Korea
Information & Documents
This travel carnet is designed to accompany you throughout your stay in South Korea. It will guide you through your transfers, help you reach each accommodation and find your way between visits. The apps and numbers below are essential for a completely serene journey.
For every accommodation, transfer or site of interest you will find a keyword to enter in Naver Map or Kakao Map (the two Korean navigation apps) and — where needed — a sentence in Korean to show the taxi driver, together with the full address in Hangul, easy to copy and paste.
ⓃⓀ = same keyword for both apps

Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 20:00 (KST)
Languages available: Italian, English, French, Korean
These apps will let you move around and communicate easily during your stay. Download them before you leave home — some can be difficult to install once you are in Korea.
South Korea is one of the most connected countries in the world: Wi-Fi is available in almost every accommodation, café and shopping centre. Public Wi-Fi networks can, however, be slow for foreign phones.
To contact our team on WhatsApp and use the navigation apps, we strongly recommend buying an international data package or an eSIM for Korea before departure (e.g. Airalo, Holafly).
You cannot scan a code on your own screen: use manual entry instead, with these two values.
- Settings → Mobile Data (or Cellular) → Add eSIM (or Add Data Plan).
- Choose Use QR Code and scan the code above, or tap Enter Details Manually and type the two values.
- Label the new line "Korea" and set it as the line for mobile data. Keep your usual line for calls and texts if you wish.
- Settings → Connections (or Network & internet) → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code above, or choose to enter the activation code and type the two values.
- Select the new eSIM as the SIM for mobile data.
Switch on the eSIM line and turn on data roaming for the eSIM line only. To avoid charges from your home operator, turn off data roaming on your usual line.
